Soon after finishing my running career as Minnesota Golden Gopher, I fell in love, bought a house, married, and started a family.
Matt and I started dating in the fall of 2009, and we both knew it was a forever kind of thing just after a month of being together. Although I don't always have the best way of showing it, I wouldn't be able to survive life without Matt; he's the best teammate I could ever ask for.
In February 2012, we welcomed Doris Mae into our family; she taught me that there's nothing more difficult and more rewarding than being a momma. "Mae" has the best giggle ever and is already proving to be a wonderful big sister.
After an eventful pregnancy filled with highs and lows, Otto Matthew joined our crew in July 2014. Before he was even born, he starting teaching us about compassion and has opened our eyes [and hearts] to a whole new world. Otto is the sweetest little boy and just thinking about him brings tears [of joy] to my eyes.
Earning my M.Ed. in Sport Management, I've worked as an Events Manager for Twin Cities in Motion [the parent organization of the Twin Cities Marathon], an Assistant to the Athletic Director at a local high school, and as an Office Coordinator at my alma mater. I've always enjoyed writing and editing and am excited to finally have a place of my own to share my work.
